KunlunBase is a distributed relational database management system(RDBMS) with complete NewSQL capabilities and robust transaction ACID guarantees and is compatible with standard SQL. Applications which used PostgreSQL or MySQL can work with KunlunBase as-is without any code change or rebuild because KunlunBase supports both PostgreSQL and MySQL connection protocols and DML SQL grammars. MySQL DBAs can quickly work on a KunlunBase cluster because we use MySQL as storage nodes of KunlunBase. PolarStack-Daemon is a daemon process in DBaaS PolarStack. It runs on all hosts and is responsible for port status collection, db log clear, db engine images availability collection, host network status collection. It provides the basic host information and status for db cluster creating/migrating/state recognition and running.

Clust_mgr is an important compnent of KunlunBase. It provides a HTTP API for KunlunBase users to do cluster management, provisioning and monitor work, so that uses can install a cluster, a kunlun-server node, a storage shard or a kunlun-storage node by calling such APIs. Such capability enables users to integrate KunlunBase management and provisioning as part of their existing application or GUIs. Cluster_mgr also provide other important cluster maintenance background work to make sure the KunlunBase clusters it serves can work efficiently and reliably.
